Squeak
I like painting three dimensional objects. These tiny little Abstract Expressionist sculptures are inspired by the master painter Hans Hoffman and the California sculptor Ronald Davis, and a colleque of mine, Squeak Carnwrath. These artists are able to imbue abstract color, shape, line, texture with spirit and emotion. Their huge paintings draw you in, your mind drifts, a visual meditation. The challenge for me is to bring that sort of experience up close, to telescope it down, to instill the minuscule with the monumental.
